To recover physically after training, muscular and hepatic glycogen must be replenished because glycogen is the primary source of energy for any physical activity. The key factors for glycogen resynthesis are the ways, type, and timing of carbohydrate intake. Consumed carbohydrates must have moderate-to-high glycemic indices for glycogen resynthesis to work.
Studies indicate that you should consume 85-100g of carbohydrate and 25-30g of protein in the first 15-20 minutes after physical activity. So the ratio should be 1 gram of protein for every 3 grams of carbohydrate and another 50g of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index should be consumed every 2 hours. VEROFIT has developed its Regeneration product based exactly on this composition.
Since VEROFIT Regeneration contains protein (in a ratio of 3g to 1g carbohydrate), glycogen stores are recovered faster, because there is an elevated insulin response. In addition, insulin is an anabolic hormone that helps inhibit muscular microlesions after moderate to high-intensity and/or long-duration workouts.
